The Road to Broome

When we got to Mary’s pool campsite we were surprised to see that there were about 50 people there and it was only a roadside campsite. Then we set up and went to sleep. The next day we drove to Fitzroy Crossing and had lunch. Then we drove to our campsite in Ellendale. That night we had some ants attacking us (crawling and biting us) and in the end I filled up my Sprite can with water and tipped it down there hole. The next morning when we were packing up we found that ants were under our swags mattresses so we sprayed our swags with bug spray but it didn’t work so we packed up with them inside. Then we drove to Derby and went to the Prison Boab TreeDSCF1694 (2) which had had prisoners trapped inside. There was also a 150 metre trough, it was very long, and a swimming poolDSCF1697 (2) that was small. Then we went to get me a doctors appointment for my ear and he put a wick in. Then we drove to the Willere road house and stayed there. Then we had a shower and my wick fell out. Then we drove to Broome.

  1. That Boab tree sure looks wide - how many prisoners could it fit in??
