When I woke up I immediately finished my book. Then we packed up and drove to a roadside campsite that was very windy so we went behind some trees. The next day we went to Cape Keraudren and had a look at the three campsites and found one that suited both of us. Then I went down to the beach and played in the sand and made a sandcastle. That night we went and collected shells and on the way back I found a dead crab. For a change that evening we watched part of ‘Lord of the Rings’ but the laptop ran out of battery. The next day we packed up and drove to Sherlock River campsite. It was a bit standard but I liked it. The next day we drove to Cossack and went to the cemetery and saw the grave of William Shakespeare Hall and his family who are related to us (Ed. William Shakespeare Hall is actually Max’s Great Great Great Grandfather). Then we went to the visitor centre cafe and got an ice cream. Their we went on the heritage trail and even found the Hall’s living quarters a that my Great Great Grandfather had run Sherlock Station. Then we went to the jail cells and I tried to trap Dad inside but I was missing a padlock. Then we got back in the car and drove to Roebourne Visitor Centre which was also the old gaol (the old fashioned word for jail) Museum and had a look around. Most of the prisoners had been Aboriginal and all of the five hangings were Aboriginals as well, three of them for the same crime which was throwing spears and hitting Dr Vines in the stomach. Then we went to a campsite. The next day we went to Dampier and drove to an information bay to find the Red Dog Monument and then found out that the Red Dog Monument was in the information bay and we found out that there was a record of Red Dog in the Karratha Library. Then we went to get a Red Dog postcard. Then we went to Karratha but the Library was closed. Then we drove to Wyndham which was a town run by the mining company. Then we went to Point Sampson and saw the old jetty. Then we went to Sherlock River again. The next day we drove to Port Hedland and had a look at the Port. Then we went to the visitor centre and watched a video of mining. Then we to the Library and read some books. Our campsite was the golf club and we had fish and chips for tea. The next day we went to Peter’s house and I watched TV for the rest of the afternoon. That night we went to a friends house for dinner and I played with Georgie. Then we went to bed. The next day we packed up and drove towards Karijini National Park.
